On February 21st 2025, the prestigious MPOWER Annual Awards 2025 ceremony took place at the iconic Doltone House, Jones Bay Wharf, in Sydney. This event, organized by the MPOWER platform and supported by ALABC (Australian Latin America Business Council), recognised the achievements and dedication of Latino entrepreneurs in Australia. It brought together industry leaders and notable figures for a night full of celebrations, networking, and entertainment.
MPOWER, an initiative founded by Ecuadorians Paola Espinosa and her daughter Cami, has established itself as a key support pillar for the Latino community in Australia. By providing entrepreneurs with access to essential resources such as mentorship, training, and networking opportunities, MPOWER continues to drive the growth of Latino businesses in the country.
Selection Process and Voting for the Winners
The selection process for the awards began with an open call where members of the Latino community in Australia nominated their favorites in various categories. This was followed by a public voting stage, which gathered over 6,000 votes from the public. The top finalists were then evaluated by a specialized jury, which determined the winners.
The judging panel consisted of a group of high-level experts who assessed each finalist based on rigorous and detailed criteria. The distinguished members of the jury included:

Additionally, a special tribute was given to Gabriela Villalba, a former member of the internationally acclaimed music group Kudai. Her remarkable artistic career was celebrated, making her an icon of success and perseverance.
