Guía Latina - Zest Law

Guía Latina is a free community initiative by Zest Injury Law, created to support Queensland's Spanish-speaking community with clear legal orientation, in their own language.

Many people assume that if they don't speak fluent English, or don't know where to start, their options are limited. Guía Latina exists to change that: listening first, explaining how the system works in plain Spanish, and connecting people with the right path forward, whether that's a government service, a form, or a lawyer at Zest Law when the situation calls for one.

The initiative is led by Julio Camacho, who understands firsthand what it's like to navigate a new system in a new language. Julio and the Guía Latina team work with newly arrived migrants, workers unsure of their rights after a workplace accident, and families facing everyday legal questions they don't know who to ask.

Guía Latina's approach is warm and direct: everyday language, no legal jargon, so people understand their situation before deciding what to do next. Guidance is always free; formal legal advice, when needed, is provided by a qualified lawyer.
